Ingredients:

  • 2 walleye fillets

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • Lemon wedges, for serving

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the walleye fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season the fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.

  2. In a shallow dish, combine the all-purpose flour, paprika, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Dredge each walleye fillet in the seasoned flour mixture, shaking off any excess.

  3. In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium-high heat until the butter is melted and sizzling.

  4. Carefully place the coated walleye fillets in the skillet. Cook the fillets for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. The cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the fillets.

  5. Once the walleye fillets are cooked to your desired level of doneness and have a crispy exterior, remove them from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

  6. Serve the pan-fried walleye fillets hot, garnished with fresh parsley and lemon wedges on the side for a refreshing citrus kick. Pair the walleye with your favorite side dishes, such as steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh green salad.

  7. Enjoy the flavorful and tender pan-fried walleye straight from the skillet for a delicious and satisfying meal that showcases the natural taste of this fresh catch.

This pan-fried walleye recipe offers a quick and easy way to prepare and enjoy this prized freshwater fish, highlighting its delicate flavor and flaky texture with a crispy and seasoned crust. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special seafood meal,
